Former medical researcher and current Paleo blogger Sarah Ballantyne is our guest today on The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore!

What a thrill it is for us to have Sarah joining us in this episode! She lost an incredible 120 pounds on a combination of a low-carb and Paleo lifestyle changes–the latter helping her fix the underlying health problems that had been habitually plaguing her life. Paleo got her autoimmune issues under control and now has a passion for helping others understand and embrace the science supporting the Paleo way of life. She formerly conducted medical research before deciding to become a full-time stay-at-home mom. That knowledge and experience from her scientific background inspired her to begin writing about what happened to her life at “The Paleo Mom” blog. She includes lots of information about living the Paleo lifestyle there, including layman’s information about exercise, sleep, stress management, feeding kids, Paleo recipes, and so much more! Listen in as Jimmy and Sarah discuss why she believes following a low-carb diet alone wasn’t enough for her to get healthy and what more she needed to do to restore her health completely.

  1. i really enjoyed this interview jimmy… her attitude about changing beliefs is spot on. too bad so many will continue to suffer because it takes so long to turn the tide. my favourite aspect of the paleo community is that so many of the scientists understand the importance of making their message accessible.

  2. I listened to this episode while traveling on the plane and when I had web-access looked up the Paleo Mom website.  Wow, I fell in love Sarah’s blog and immediately subscribed to it.  After listening to this podcast and reading through some of her articles, I’m tempted to step my low-carb / gluten-free plan to paleo.  I am suffering from pesky psoriasis on my hands, elbows and feet and nothing had worked so far to get rid of it. I’ve been suspecting food intolerances (I’m sure of gluten and having GI issues with dairy, but couldn’t stay off the latter – A CLUE???)

My next step is reading up on the auto-immune protocol and try it out.  Let’s see if something happens.
