When Jill approached Jimmy about writing the foreword to her new book Farewell, Club Perma-Chub: A Sugar Addict’s Guide to Easy Weight Loss, he was curious to see what her dietary philosophy was all about and whether he could confidently sign his name on as part of the book. But it didn’t take long to realize that Jill totally understands that sugar and refined carbohydrates are a big problem with obesity and chronic disease in the United States and that something needs to be done about it sooner rather than later. That’s why she wrote her fantastic book (and Jimmy did write the foreword) which you will hear all about in today’s interview!

  1. I just read the book 6 week Cure for the Middle Age Middle by the Doctors’ Eades and found out my caffeine consumption was keeping my fatty liver ‘fatty’. I really recommend this book for those people whose diet has stalled. Have you heard of the all meat diet? They talk about a couple of doctors who independently created it. Enjoy the show…

  2. Geesh I really look forward to the day when the scale and the dress size and our leftover fat  is none of anyone’s business. Being healthy is *not* equated by our body shape size weight or fat percentage. As individuals it is *our* health and that is fluid and changeable.
Even in the Paleo community I see much emphasis on body weight, body fat % and clothing sizes. It makes me feel like we have forgotten what we came for….to be as healthy as possible for this moment in time. For some that may mean a less than perfect number yet they are still winning the battle…its not about the size!
I know the sugar is a gateway into poor poor nutrition yet food (including sugar) addiction is not always as easy as abstaining, just as with the drug addict or alcoholic if you are truly addicted there may be underlying issues that when addressed make abstaining much more possible.
So as we say in eating disorders….it’s not about the food and it’s not-not about the food! 🙂
    Thanks for listening Jimmy.

    1. AMEN Gina! The obsession with body image is craziness. It’s as if all of our hard work getting the pristine health we now enjoy thanks to low-carb living is all for naught with the way some people respond to not “looking” the part. Most frustrating are all the judgmental sneers that there’s something you’re doing wrong because you’re not perfectly “lean.” Can you tell I’m on a soapbox here today? LOL!
