Connor Young’s passion for nutrition and athletic performance began in high school. His interest in the science of nutrition led him to complete a biology degree from St. Olaf College and landed him deep in the nascent CrossFit movement, where he eventually co-owned a box and coached hundreds of members to improve their health and well being through food and movement. Shortly afterward, he joined the medical sales field and found himself in the operating room with thousands of patients he knew wouldn’t be there if only someone had helped them make better lifestyle choices. He knew then that his life’s path was to work on the preventive side of healthcare. He dove deep into the science of nutrition and moved to San Francisco in 2014 to form a health-related startup. While living in a hacker house with many other entrepreneurs, he was seen as the nutrition expert. One friend asked him to make it easy for him to eat healthily while working long startup hours, so Connor made him a drinkable meal that aligned with the emerging research he’d been voraciously studying. That friend responded so positively he passed it around to more friends, and Ample was born– a company committed to making it insanely easy for people to have a healthy meal.
