Some people seek out celebrity status by bringing attention to themselves to make that happen. But there are a few very special people in the world who have no such desire to become famous and yet that’s exactly what happens to them within the natural course of doing what they love and are passionate about. That certainly describes today’s interview guest Pete Evans, perhaps the most famous TV chef in Australia. He has taken his joy for cooking professionally and combined it with a healthy emphasis on a low-carb, high-fat version of the Paleo diet to help make the people of his country and around the world better off in their weight and health than they’ve ever been before. Now Pete has brought a bit of that Aussie flair to the United States with the release of his new book The Paleo Chef: Quick, Flavorful Paleo Meals for Eating Well.

Listen in as Jimmy and Pete share about how Nora Gedgaudas introduced him to Paleo, his culinary training in the United States, his personal interest in health and nutrition, how Tony Robbins got him excited about healthy living, how being a vegan made his health deteriorate, how going Paleo has helped him and his entire family get healthy, the major shift that will take place in the next five years regarding real food, why he thought about calling his nutritional approach the “Pete Evans Way,” weight normalization is merely the bonus of eating healthy again, the reality of “normal” from mainstream health gurus is far different from what we consider normal, the rise in dietitians embracing this way of eating, the popularity of the Paleo Cafe chain in Australia, his “The Paleo Way” television series that has gone worldwide, why he doesn’t put a ton of science into his presentations, the 10-week program he provides with Nora Gedgaudas, how he “reluctantly” got into being a television chef, food television programs have become a ratings success around the world, how this focus on food is planting seeds in the minds of the next generation, how he funded “The Paleo Way” TV show with his own money with no commitment from any network to air it, his “transition” approach to get families to buy into better food choices, his “I love pasta” story, and so much more. Pete Evans is a superstar celebrity chef in Australia and we’re honored to have him here today on the show.

  1. I thoroughly enjoyed the information provided by Pete Evans. Thank you! It can be difficult to convince family and friends that the LCHF lifestyle is the healthiest way to achieve ultimate health. I have a friend who is a Phd who suggested that I “buy a science book.” I intend to have blood work done after 6 months of living this life to show to him. Perhaps he should have the report for lunch?
