And David Gillespie is on a one-man mission to help people get to the root cause of what is happening in their diets that’s making them fat and sick.
David was featured in Episode 219 of “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show” in January 2009 discussing his book Sweet Poison: Why Sugar Is Making Us Fat. Over the past few years he has been staying busy continuing to promote the dangers of consuming fructose, but also recognizes many of the sacred cows about nutrition being promoted by the food and diet industry are just plain wrong. Eat less, move more, cut your saturated fat consumption, eat more polyunsaturated vegetable oils, take loads of supplements–the list goes on and on.
He exposes the risks involved in living this way in his brand new book (not yet available in the US) called Big Fat Lies: How The Diet Industry Is Making You Sick, Fat & Poor. You guys should definitely listen to David Gillespie, his second book changed my life, I am no longer addicted to sugary foods/drinks….I feel younger every day, and my arthritis is better about 40% from what it was…I lost 9 kilos over 13 months, I am now on a low carb journey, which is going well so far, 10 days in….I will only use coconut oil, real butter, & local olive oil, as fats, and Stevia & Rice Malt syrup as sweeteners, neither have fructose in them….22 months ago I was fat & unhappy, I still have about 10 kilos more to go, but I feel so much better.

Lovely to hear this interview with David who lives in my home town. In a recent supermarket catalogue, a famous Australian doctor and nutritionist is promoting a low fat yoghurt. It contains 15% sugar. A friend who drives a truck, picks up “waste” from a flour mill. Some of it is used to feed animals. Some goes to vitamin manufacturers. Thanks Jimmy and David.
