Sometimes you just gotta laugh at the mess we find ourselves in. While skyrocketing rates are no laughing matter, some of the reasons (and excuses) given for how and why we got this way can certainly be comical. CalorieLab.com health writer Bob Wieder knows a thing or two about obesity and being funny and decided to combine these two passions in a Kindle e-book on the subject entitled 115 Reasons Why It’s Not Your Fault If You’re Fat: Justifications, Rationalizations, Excuses, and Extenuating Circumstances for the Not Exactly Thin. As you might imagine, anything and everything is on the table in this book pointing the finger at your mom, biology, family, school, where you live, other fat people, society, lifestyle choices, your job, the auto industry, chemical industry, food and beverage industry, government, God, and whoever else we can find to blame. Listen in as Jimmy and Bob explore some of the more intriguing reasons why you became fat and the state of obesity in modern times.

  1. I detected a lot of fat phobia from Bob there and was glad to see you argue those points.  Also, the brain has a pleasure center, yes, I think we can all agree on that.  It is stimulated whenever something pleasurable happens, including a kiss from the wife or petting a kitten or eating good food or yes using drugs.  But every time it is mentioned it’s always in the context of ‘the same thing that COCAINE does’.  So, petting a kitten is addictive, just like COCAINE!!
