Dr. Braverman, aka “America’s Brain Doctor,” has dedicated his life to helping his patients get their life back by reversing the aging process as the years pass by. He does this through a variety of ways, including hormone replacement therapy, supplementation, and changes in diet. His latest book Younger Brain, Sharper Mind explores ways to keep your brain sharp even into the golden years by feeding your body what it needs to be healthy, how exercise plays a role in this process, and rearranging parts of your life to put yourself in the best position to preserve this vital organ for many years to come. Listen in as Jimmy and Dr. Braverman discuss this important subject.

  1. Doesn’t sound like Dr. Braverman is paying attention to current nutritional thinkers, and is holding on to “conventional wisdom”. There might be some good stuff in his book, but, this is a pass.

        1. Yes, I did! Jimmy, I am Vadim you met at the conference. Lol, then again you probably figured it out. There aren’t many Vadim’s out there being a fan of low carb. I have known Dr Braverman for a long time. I even made an appt with him once and while sitting in his office I saw the lights flickering and before I knew it there was a big crowd gathering on the streets of Manhattan. It was a great Blackout. I and few other people helped evacuate few older women, one on wheel chair from the 16 th floor with elevator being shut down.it was a crazy day. I never actually came back to see him. And after listening to his weekly radio show I grew more tired of his Know it all cocky attitude. When he called me after the show he never let me finish my story. He might mean well but it’s very annoying when Dr wantbto be God and shut you up before you have a chance to finish a sentence. It was so evident in your interview. When you tried to share your story he interrupted you and asked ” how old are you? And without letting you say the rest proceeded to talk about side effects of testosterone hinting that he is probably the only doctor out there who knows how to monitor it. Then, at the end of your closing segment he interrupted you again and said ” I hope you put the link at your website so people can get brochures. Come on Doc! It’s a two way street. Sometimes patients know their bodies better then you think. Learn to listen! You definitely learnt how to talk!

      1. Vadim, I came here to see if anybody else felt the same way. While I was willing and ready to listen to what he says (I seem to persist in maintaining the family high triglycerides, so have been pondering the idea that they slow the brain down…), I was struck by the persona. If Jimmie can’t bring out the best and most appealing aspects of an interviewee, ain’t noone can. 🙁

  2. I read the edge effect a long time ago and loved it. I had such high hopes of this interview. But unfortunate his information was a let down and his personality threw me right off.

Thanks for saving me money Jimmy!

  3. He seemed to be stuck a decade back…Perhaps he is to busy knowing to continue learning….one thing I love about the low carb community is many are life long students. Thank God!

  4. I can’t believe he said to avoid saturated fat, and to “drink eight glasses of water a day”; a very common myth. Avoiding healthy saturated fats and loading yourself with only tea, sugary fruits, yogurt with maple syrup, and thin crisps (i.e. cardboard) and doesn’t seem like the best idea for brain health. I was very disappointed with this. I think you did a great job Jimmy, I would have lost my patience =D

    1. He’s certainly not up-to-date on the latest information on nutrition…which is a shame since he describes himself as “America’s Brain Doctor.” Give me Dr. Larry McCleary instead…a REAL brain doc! THANKS for the comments, Z.
