Drs. Ernest Curtis and Steven Horvitz are our guests today on The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore!

First up we’ll hear from Dr. Ernest Curtis, author of a fascinating book called The Cholesterol Delusion. Needless to say, he’s no fan of the current cholesterol hypothesis that usually ends up in people taking tons of statin drugs.

Then in the second interview, we talk to a Moorestown, NJ-based medical doctor named Dr. Steven Horvitz who is a huge fan of healthy low-carb living. It’s never a bad thing when you can speak with a physician who supports livin’ la vida low-carb! DON’T MISS IT!

  1. I was surprised to hear that Dr Curtis said that what food you eat and lifestyle you have doesn’t effect the chances of getting heart attack. Have you interviewed some other doctor that have had another opinion about why people gets a heart attack ?

    1. Most of the physicians I’ve interviewed point the blame at vegetable oils and carbohydrates.  This is the first one who’s ever said otherwise.

  2. Yes, that surprised me too, Swedish. Lifestyle but not nutrition affects your health? I think Jimmy caught him offguard with that question, but not satisfied with the doc’s answer at all.

    Good interviews, Jimmy!

    1. I was stunned by that assertion too.  Had to ask him again just to make sure I heard him right.  If it’s true, then why eat low-carb at all?  I’m not buying it.

  3. Jimmy, can you pls tell me the name of the “PROPER” Heart Scan test you guys talked about? Going to the Doc this coming week and would like to ask him for it, in addition to VAP test.
    Thnx,
    Kira

    1. Listen to my podcast on Labor Day (9-5-11) with Dr. William Davis who is the one prescribing these tests where I ask your question directly, Kira. He makes it VERY clear which test to ask for.
