One of our favorite guests, Dr. Uffe Ravnskov, returns today to discuss his latest book, Ignore the Awkward: How the Cholesterol Myths Are Kept Alive. Dr. Ravnskov is one of the leading voices correcting the insanity behind the opposition to cholesterol. His brand new book shows exactly how the perpetrators of the cholesterol myths have been able to keep the lies going by manipulating the science to suit their own purposes. If you want to get in-depth about how to understand scientific studies on nutrition, then don’t miss this conversation!

We’re also happy to share a second interview today featuring former vegan and current Paleo blogger at the “Let Them Eat Meat” blog Rhys Southan to discuss the research of Denise Minger and the work of people like Lierre Keith among others in showing the potential harmful effects of veganism and under-supplementation (among many other topics!). Don’t miss these amazing back-to-back interviews!

Don’t forget to check out our great sponsors of today’s show, Quest Protein Bars and Low-Carb Conversations with Jimmy Moore & Friends, the new laid-back, conversational-styled low-carb podcast brought to you by Jimmy Moore, his co-host Mindy Noxon Iannotti, and loads of listeners just like you! 1. Jimmy,

Thanks for the two podcasts with Dr. Uffe Ravnskov and blogger Rhys Southan.

It flabbergasts me to no end that people are still so preoccupied with cholesterol, even though you have well-credentialed men, like Dr. Ravnskov, Dr. Malcolm Kendrick, and a host of other medical doctors and researchers highlighting numerous studies showing that there is no causal link between elevated cholesterol levels and heart disease, and in fact showing the opposite – that having very low cholesterol may predispose you to certain diseases. As the old saying goes, if you repeat a lie long enough people will believe it. If there is something that could be added to that truism it is that a lie is guaranteed to be repeated for longer than usual, in the face of mounting contrary evidence, when there is financial interest, in the billions of dollars, depending on that lie.

With respect to your interview with Rhys Southan, I am glad that there is someone who is directly challenging the vegan propaganda that is out there. We need more people like Mr. Southan and Lierre Keith, because while the Paleo movement and the low carb movement in general have been pretty good at informing the public about the health benefits of restricting carbohydrates and eating in accordance with ancestral dietary principles, very few of them make it a point to address our most vociferous detractors – the vegetarians and vegans. I am really looking forward to your interview with DurianRider (his real name is Harley Johnstone). I get so agitated when I see him peddling his propaganda around.

I know Jimmy that it is your style to let your guests speak, with very little interruption or cross examination from you, and I appreciate your politeness, but I hope you modify your interviewing style for a guy like Durianrider. You need to refute him when he makes points that are ostensibly false, because such falsehoods can mislead people and put them down a path towards declining health.

    1. THANKS Lawrence. I reference you to my interviews with vegan, low-fat leaders Dr. Dean Ornish and Dr. Neal Barnard to see how I can be polite yet pressing when need be. 🙂
