  1. Very informative. Wish it had run longer. Just shows to go ya that we can benefit from fine tuning based on current science and sound reasoning.

When I added back some ‘safe starches’ and began supplementing with ‘resistant starches’ (inulin and glucomannan) to nourish the mostly beneficial colonic bacteria, the sluggish, difficult bowel movements that began when I went VLC have returned to normal.

Thanks for another helpful guest interview, Jimmy.

    1. It was already a 75-minute podcast…couldn’t go much longer, Jim. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Remember to vote for this podcast at the end of the year for next year’s “Encore Week.”

  2. Thanks Jimmy

Great interview, great concept of the toxicity is in the dose, and at the end he got into my 2 favorite subjects, coconut oil and Intermittent Fasting!! BTW I just lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks with IF. , I’ll do a post eventually….
So I just ordered his book!!! Thanks a million!

  3. Thanks for the great interview! Paul’s calm rationale tone and style breaths clarity, truth and trust. I have been reading his blog and appreciate his attention to detail and have been inspired from his recent post to make my own ice cream! Paul’s statement about the natural toxicity of certain foods (i.e. grains, legumes) being 1000 times more toxic than environmental toxins as the most useful info nugget and confirms what I intuitively have believed. Some of your readers and listeners may enjoy my health and wellness blog which comes from a deep spirituality point of view. http://deepwellnessworks.blogspot.com/…thanks Paul and Jimmy!

  4. I quite like the idea of individuality and eating a little wider range of food for good health, Thanks for the interview. You are on a roll!

  5. After I listened to this one I zipped on over to Amazon to read the reviews of his book. Everybody is praising it. Even though we’re on a tight budget and I shouldn’t be buying any books….I have a feeling this book is going to save me money in the long run. So, I bought it (through Jimmy’s site of course). The reviewers praised these authors so much, I’m going to have to listen to this interview again. Thanks!

  6. Paul is a class act. He is so willing to help anyone who has concerns. His blog is terrific. I posted a question on his blog and he responded within minutes. I posted again, and again, he responded. He genuinely cares. As far as the diet, I have a big problem with a diet too low in carbs. I get brain fog and lethargy when really low-carb (like less than 80 grams of carbs). His diet is perfect for me. Plus, I do look forward to the white rice and sweet potatoes, which I have always thought of as more benign. I don’t eat a ton of those foods, but to me, there is nothing better than white rice or sweet potatoes with pastured butter sometimes. ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. I realize it’s not for everyone. ๐Ÿ™‚ Some people really struggle on VLC diets and this might be a nice in-between. You get the benefit of low(er) carb with high fat and reduced food toxicity.

  7. Aloha Jimmy!
Another incredible podcast. I am jazzed as this is what I have always felt intuitively yet was still piecing together the science from others …you my friend are amazing turning us all on to guests like Paul.
    Keep ’em comin’.
    Aloha~ Gina

  8. I have to disagree with some of the folks. This is just my opinion. So please don’t get too bothered by these comments. Did anyone notice his slow to comment on some of his research? I understand he had difficulties in the past as I have with a former chronic illness. His skills at giving an interview was sorely lacking compared to other people Jimmie has interviewed. His idea’s on WHITE RICE being an okay food seem a little out of whack when you look at it’s carb makeup and processing involved. He neglected to point out many well known and obvious issues with wheat and other grains (allerigies). Jimmie does a great job in coaching interviewers but this interview was only interesting because he seemed to contradict some pretty well known and proven facts. I just felt this was lacking some strength behind Paul’s research. I haven’t read his book but now I will go and get it just to see some of his theories. I agree with Dr. Williams on Biochemical individuality. No 2 people will have the same chemistry. We look for a one size fit’s all book. Or a book that relaxes up on some of the don’t do’s and rules that we know we have to follow. I just wasn’t that impressed with his conviction and idea’s. If some people eat what he say’s look out, they will ask for trouble.

  9. Hi Jimmy, thanks for all the great interviews. Whilst I enjoyed this edition and found Paul’s theories interesting, alarm bells were ringing regarding the credibility of some of his ideas.

Just as an example, the notion that glucose insufficiency results in mucous related disorders was very new to me, and from an intuitive perspective it sounds like something people should do their own research on before accepting as fact.

Interesting stuff, but I reserve full judgement until I have read the research which I’m sure will be cited on his blog.

    Thanks Paul

  10. Can’t say I agree with a lot of what he’s saying, especially about zero carb diets. If you are taking a good multivitamen supplement, then you shouldn’t be getting things like scurvy and other malnutritional disorders. From what I understand we don’t need carbs. You could go through your entire life without eating a single carb and you would survive and be healthy. I haven’t heard a single thing about lack of mucous. Also, he’s calling white rice healthy and good. Though it’s not the worse when it comes to grains, there’s definitely no reason to eat it.. Also he says everyone by the age of 40 has some kind of chronic disease that multiplies through time, and I don’t know, I find this is very hard to believe that every single person would.
