  1. Jimmy,

Thanks for this informative interview with Dr. Loren Cordain. Right after Gary Taubes, I think Dr. Cordain is one of the most important advocates of low carbohydrate living. Granted, he may differ from people like Taubes and Drs. Michael and Mary Eades concerning things like saturated fat, but that divergence in opinion is not as significant as critics make it out to be. I am elated that your interview exposed the fact that Cordain’s view of saturated fat is much more nuanced, and it is not as antagonistic towards saturated fat as those who promote the conventional view of diet, like the American Heart Association. The sustained popularity of Cordain’s books, and the proliferation of other Paleo style books, like Robb Wolf’s “Paleo Solution”, is proof positive that it is only a matter of time for the low carbohydrate lifestyle to rival low calorie/low fat diets in popularity, if not supplant them. The hard scientific evidence is clearly mounting on our side of the ledger, and we are indebted to men like Cordain for making such information accessible to the layman.

  2. Hey Jimmy,
Thank you so much for the interview with Dr. Cordain. Very eagerly looking forward to the rest of the interviews!

While Dr. Cordain talks about saturated fats and heart disease, he mentions that eating SaFas will cause atherosclerosis but the chances of rupture and hence death is minimal… and for this he presents the Inuit example. While it makes sense, Dr. Cordain mentions that the autopsies were performed on the ‘mummies’ of people who died when they were 40-50 yrs. What if these people had lived till, say, 75? Would the atherosclerosis have progressed enough to cause rupture?

    Thoughts on this?

    Thanks!

  3. I was watching Nightline last night and they featured Art Devany and Rob W about caveman diet. It was quite a big segment considering it’s a nightlife and both Rob and Art were interviewed for a good time. Did u see it?
