Dr. Michael Holick is the author of The Vitamin D Solution: A 3-Step Strategy to Cure Our Most Common Health Problem, as well as a Boston area medical researcher–sometimes known as “Dr. Sunshine”–and is our guest on today’s episode of The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore!
Today Jimmy and Dr. Holick discuss a whole passle of Vitamin-D related topics, including: Which is better, D2 or D3? Is Vitamin-D really a vitamin? What is a good dose of Vitamin-D supplement? Which brands are good and which should you avoid? What are healthy blood levels of Vitamin-D? Are food sources alone sufficient? Where on Earth can you never get enough Vitamin-D from sunlight alone?
All this and more can be found in today’s DON’T-MISS episode!

I am eating almost daily 1 Tbs of cod liver mixed with cod oil (from Russian food store). Is it enough to satisfy vit.D needs?
Great interview. Regarding Dr. Holick’s Vit D level, did he says it’s 50 ng/mL or 60? I’ve replayed that part three times, but I can’t distinguish it.
I take cod liver oil too, but still supplement with D3 gel caps.
I so enjoy your podcasts so informative as well as entertaining. I would like to ask you if you have encountered folks with Kidney issues like high urine ACR and if they have been successful on the Atkins and or other low carb
programs? If you can direct me to previous podcasts that chat on this issue will be helpful.
Great job and thank you, you are appreciated.
