Sally Pacholok, RN, co-author of Could It Be B12? is today’s guest on The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore. Welcome back!
Sally Pacholok is a registered nurse who suffered from Vitamin B12 deficiency. Once she got to the bottom of her own diagnosis, she decided to help others, because B12 deficiency is often not diagnosed or misdiagnosed. Some disorders commonly blamed where low B12 is actually to blame include multiple sclerosis, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, autism, depression, diabetic neuropathy, and many others. Listen in for a wealth of info on this shamefully under-diagnosed condition, including why you should NEVER start taking Vitamin B12 without first getting a serum B12 blood test.

This is purely anecdotal and not a recommendation, but I had two years of severe depression and mania, and after no luck with a dozen pchiatric medicines I tried a supplement for bi-polar from the Canadian company Truehope.com. The symptoms went away and haven’t returned, this was five years ago. In reading the ingredients in the supplement there are low doses of lots of things, and extremely high doses of B-12, so I’ve wondered if that was what
did the trick.
Anectdotal or not, that’s amazing Peter.
I never knew that B12 was that important before this episode. Thanks Jimmy!
