Just another WordPress site

The year 2010 has been a breakthrough year for “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore” podcast. Traffic to the podcast web site is quickly approaching the level of my blog and the number of listens to this twice-weekly, interview-based health broadcast has made it one of the most popular podcasts in the “Fitness & Nutrition” category at iTunes. Despite the use of the “LC word” in the title of my program, people have been flocking like never before to listen each week and I am immensely grateful for all of the amazing word-of-mouth advertisement that my faithful listeners like so many of you have been willing to share with your family, friends and co-workers about it.

In case you hadn’t already noticed it, I LOVE doing this podcast for you each and every week and I am thrilled to hear it is making a genuine difference in the lives of real people who are benefitting from it. And lest I forget to mention it, a BIG THANKS to my executive producer Kevin Kennedy-Spaien from Disc Of Light Media for all of his tireless efforts to make the show look and sound as professional as it possibly can. If you ever have a need for audio production, web site development, or you think you might want to start up a podcast of your own, then I cannot recommend Kevin highly enough to meet and exceed all of your expectations. He’s a true gem of a man that I value both as a business partner and friend. E-mail Kevin and be sure to tell him you heard about him from Jimmy Moore…he’ll take GOOD care of you!

A few years ago when my podcast shifted from being an audio version of my blog into the “interviews-with-the-experts” style you know and love today, I thought it would be a great idea to invite back the very best guests as voted on by my listeners and ask them the burning questions that may not have been covered during my original interview with them. Thus was birthed the annual “Encore Week” which takes place during the first full week of January in the new year featuring your favorite interview guests who have been featured on “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show” over the previous year for a full week of brand new interviews. It’s a fantastic way to start the new year off on the right foot and has become a tradition that I fully intend to continue for as long as this podcast exists.

Well, you may have already guessed it, but it’s that time again since 2011 will be here before you know it. I need to know exactly who you’d like to hear more from during our special “Encore Week 2011” set to take place on January 3-7, 2011. Eligible interview guests for this “Best of 2011” include those from Episode 301 to 407 excluding the “Best of 2009 Encore Week” podcasts. We recently updated the “Archives” section of the podcast web site to show a listing of all the podcasts in descending order, so feel free to take a look through all of the interviews I’ve conducted over the past year to pick up to 10 of your favorite guests. This has certainly been quite a year of amazing podcast interviews and I’m sure narrowing it down to just 10 will be a very difficult decision (now you see why I need YOUR help!). But I really want to know who YOU would like to hear more from along with any specific questions you want me to ask them during a follow-up interview.

In previous years when I’ve asked for nominees, I’ve had quite a few people send me a list of names but no interview questions to ask them during the new interview. While it is nice to know who you want to hear more from, I really need to know the specific questions and even comments that you would like for me to ask and share with them so that the “Encore Week” interview can be both informative and fresh to distinguish it from original podcast. This is YOUR opportunity to play the host of “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show” by asking the questions you care about the most. Please send your nominations (up to 10 names) along with any specific questions for each guest to the official podcast e-mail address: LLVLCShow@gmail.com. The deadline for nominations is Friday, November 19, 2010, so don’t delay in sending me who you think is worthy of hearing more from during the “2011 Encore Week.”

I’m currently working on a project that will meet the needs and desires of so many of my listeners who have asked me some semblance of the following question over the past few years: “Do you have a transcript of BLANK podcast I can read?” Whether it’s because they can’t access the audio of my podcasts due to a slow Internet connection or they simply want to go back and review the information provided during the interviews in written form, this is a great need that I’m seeking to fulfill. A fan of my show offered her transcribing services to me and I’m negotiating a price for what it would cost to have her transcribe 10-15 of them at a time for a series of books that would include the interviews along with some of the behind-the-scenes stuff about the interview. I’m thinking we’d need to limit it to no more than 15 interviews to keep the books from becoming War and Peace!

My thought is to group them according to a specific theme. For example, I’ve interviewed quite a few Paleo/primal guests over the past few years like Mark Sisson, Richard Nikoley, Dr. Kurt Harris, Robb Wolf, etc., so that would be one book. Another book could include the researchers who are studying the effects of low-carb diets on health. Still another book of transcripts could highlight all of the former vegans/vegetarians who have been convinced that meat-eating isn’t as bad as they thought. The possibilities with this concept are endless and I’m striving to meet consumer demand for these transcripts while pulling back the curtain a bit on the organized chaos that makes “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show” work so well.

What do you think? Is this something you’d be interested in if I made it available? Would it need to be an e-book only or would you also want it to be available in traditional paperback book form? Are there any specific podcasts you wish you had a transcript of? Finally, if individual podcast transcripts were made available to you, then what would you be willing to pay for access to them? Your input on all of this is greatly appreciated, so please e-mail me your thoughts and comments. THANK YOU so much for making “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore” such a powerful tool for changing lives for the better by being such devoted listeners week after week. Without your support, there would be no reason to do it. You guys are awesome!
