  1. Wonderful interview! Answered so many questions. I’m not alone in having to keep almost to induction. Listening to it again as I type

  2. Great job Jackie! My wife and I met you on an annual low-carb cruise about eight years ago. I will be 68 this october and will be starting my eleventh year on Atkins. Best decision I ever made! Great interview Jimmy.

  3. Great podcast! Jackie is wonderful and it was great to hear her clear up the myths about Atkins. I also appreciate the advice she gave about stalls and the diet.

  4. Very helpful information for both new people starting out and for those who think they have mastered low fat. Jimmy – you mentioned the 2010 Dietary Guidelines – are they due to be released soon?

  5. This was an amazing interview Jim! Great information and extremely helpful. Great point that low carb is not HIGH protein, this I think is the biggest misconception about The Atkins Diet.

  6. What convinced me to eat low carb was taking my blood sugar an hour after some typical meals (it was around 170) and the. After some low carb meals (it was around 100).

The guests you’ve had on who are opposed to both carbs and meat (like cardiologists William Davis and Steven Gundry) have no problem with saturated fat, but rather with glycation and early aging. I would be interested in hearing both sides of that issue.

  7. Wonderful interview. I’m glad someone is out there dispelling the myths about Atkins. I was listening to another podcast just a few weeks ago and T. Colin Campbell was the guest and do you know that they dared to bring up Dr Atkins death and tried to make an association with his death and heart disease? I wanted to reach through the computer and wring their necks! Even though many people are just starting to come around there’s still a lot of false information purposely being floated around about the man and his work by people who know better! Thanks for having her on the show Jimmy!

  8. Awesome! I appreciate her down to earth manner and candor. Informative and straight forward.

I love the way you ask a question, Jimmy, and just let the guest roll…. You have a great pulse on how to get the most out of a guest.

Thanks so much, Jackie and Jimmy!!

  9. Great interview, Jimmy and Jackie! I was especially interested in the information about cholesterol. My husband’s cholesterol has significantly increased since starting Atkins, and so we had a VAP test done, and found that although his LDL was high, it was all the large particles and his triglycerides were in a healthy range.

We had been told that this meant he was not in danger, and yet the doctor looked at the results and said he does not “believe” in this. He told my husband to start statins, which he has not done. The doctor practically said my husband was going to drop dead any minute if he did not start the statins.

I would love to hear more about this topic in the future.

Also, it was really fun listening to the nitty gritty about Atkins, and makes me even more motivated to stick with it. 19 months and going strong, even though weight loss is still slow.

    Rebecca
