Hello and welcome back to The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore!
Today Jimmy shares two exciting conversations with you! First up we’ll hear from independent documentary filmmaker CJ Hunt who is currently in post-production on his film entitled “In Search Of The Perfect Human Diet” that takes a look at what nutritional approach our bodies were made to run most efficiently on. Not surprisingly, after interviewing experts from all around the world he found that livin’ la vida low-carb rose to the top of the heap. And CJ needs your help to get this film out to the public hopefully by the end of 2010. Listen in to find out what you can do to be a part of this historic project!
Then you’ll get the skinny on low-carb-friendly nutritionist Maria Emmerich who is offering up her clients some truly fantastic and effective ways to lose weight, get healthy, and put their bodies into the shape they were meant to be. Maria knows firsthand about how difficult it is to struggle with weight problems as she suffered with them as a teenager. But not anymore and today she stands as a perfect example of the life-change that can happen when you apply solid dietary principles that work for you!
Don’t miss this exciting episode that will both inspire you and bring you hope.

CJ Hunt should be encouraged! People can say all they want about low carb diets. But Atkins is the best thing that ever happened to me. I’m 67 and have been on Atkins for ten years. I just bought my third road racing bicycle today. I have one in North Las Vegas and two at my home in Ottawa, Canada. When I was 27 I couldn’t even do justice to one bike! The only time you ever really get better with age, is with Atkins. I had to laugh. Dr. Atkins has the vegetarians running again!
Michael, that is AWESOME! CJ’s film will shake up the world, so let’s rally behind “In Search Of The Perfect Human Diet” and make it happen!
Please- lets raise some money for CJ- I’m a filmmaker/photographer myself and the costs today to produce a film is beyond belief. Music rights alone can stop a project in its tracks. If we each give 5 bucks- it will make the larger gifts even stronger. I’m sending money- anyone want to match me? I’m starting with $25.00.
Just finished listening to this podcast. OUTSTANDING!. Much better than HH’s Ep375 who after checking out her web site seems to have a different message for whomever the audience is.
And it is a SIN that folks like Oz and Weil, believe ( or so we think they do) one think but will not stand up for it. $$$ talks, not truth.
YOU GO PJ!!!
Outstanding interview! I’m going to listen to this one again right away, there’s too much stuff in here to absorb the first time.
I am in love with Maria Emmerich – I’m ordering her book from Amazon now.
She is a pretty amazing lady! LOVED talking to her. 🙂
My apologizes to you and ms Hickman. I did not listen to ep375 as it doesn’t appear in my iTunes que. I listened to a podcast she did on Cheeseslave.
Maria’s friendly farmer is very nice letting her have those organs for the dogs… we keep all the livers, kidneys, tongues, hearts, etc from the cattle we sell (all homekill now, in quarters and halves) for the dogs… and they are very healthy and still working at 13 and 14.
We also keep the tails for casseroles and the stomachs for composting.
I look forward to seeing CJ Hunt’s documentary. Oprah and he doctor Oz should enjoy this 8-/ Can’t wait till I have my liver and eggs today.
I have been really appreciating supplements lately and try to select the exactly what I need.I try to be aware of the quality if supplements.I really avoid multis because I feel that whatever they contain…it isn’t enough for me. I will add the ecetocholine since I am perimenopausal. I will be listening to this again. You hit the nail on the head because I always considered that if we ate foods that had optimal nutrition, spending a little more on these foods would be a savings.
Jimmy, I have so many friends that should be listening to your podcasts, Jimmy, who are not low carbers. I have a friend/friends with serious anxiety issues. I love turnip fries. Jimmy you’ll love them. They are great with some grass fed steak. I fry them just like french fries. Hmmm 750 mg of gaba…I’ll remember that.Does Ms Emmerich have a book out?
Listening to this podcast makes me want to start a brunch for my neighbors.Where we take a listen…stop/discuss/eat then move on to the next subject…stop/eat etc. Ugh, I just love this girl…Can I bring her home with me? Magnesium has been miraculous for me. I have been taking magnesium oxide with no problems but it is chelated. And as I understand it chelation makes the body recognize this as food. Did Jimmy Moore just say bass-akwards? You crack me up, guy.
Huh, I have estrogen belly!!! Thanks for another great podcast, Jimmy. I will hafta listen to it again.
THANKS Mary! Maria’s book is called Secrets To A Healthy Metabolism which we talked about during the podcast. ENJOY!
Thank you Jimmy for the wonderful shows!! love you and what you stand for!! I will be donating to CJ’s project!
THANKS so much for your kind support, Regina! 🙂
Hi Jimmy
Really enjoyed your interview with Maria. Checked out her book on Amazon – So much good information, and so well presented. I’m definitely buying it.
It was great to hear her talk about giving her dog(s) a real diet. I think she mentioned cooking the organ meat which is not necessary and probably undesirable. Tom Lonsdale has put out a great book about proper food for cats and dogs called “Raw Meaty Bones”.
Anyway cheers Jimmy, I appreciate all your work with the podcasts. I’ve been introduced to so many great writers through your show!
You are VERY welcome, Carroll. Hopefully the hits will keep on coming. 😀
The interview with maria emmerlich was very enlightening- even reminded me of julia Ross a little. Thanks for the great podcast!
Denise doesn’t tell about her not eating cooked foods. The whole world eats cooked foods and a few don’t. Isn’t that the defining factor in her glowing health or more impact full than the vegan v/s carnivore?
She is a paleo who eats raw foods! Jimmy, why don’t talk about cooked v/s raw? Are you raw?
Uh, no, I’m not a raw foodie.
