  1. I feed my son low-carb natural foods (including no beans and very, very little amount of grains in the form of a low carb wrap for lunch here and there). Not because I’m afraid he will become sick or fat, but because I don’t want him to have the problems I did before going low-carb (esp. in high school!). We freeze and can a lot of the vegetables we get from the farmer’s market. We buy organic when we can’t get in season vegetables. Unlike her family though, my son is a huge meat eater (like everyone in our family). Snacks are cheese, deviled eggs, vegetables with dip, bacon… Kids are easy and natural low-carbers when that’s what they crave.

    Loved the interview! 🙂

  2. I was encouraged about taking baby steps as I come from a family that kicked the men out of the kitchen, and how those wonderful meals happened was a mystery !
What are you doing about your water both for drinking and cooking, and washing clothes etc? Here in Los Angeles we are told that after our water has been ‘cleaned and processed’ there is still a residue of common drugs left in.Also,it has fluoride added, and the city seems very resistant to stopping that. In our home, we have bought a portable distilling machine that can really clean 4 gallons of tap water a day, and we keep big jars of it around for use in cooking, washing vegetables, and cold in the frig for drinking. You would not believe the mucky residue I clean out of the bottom of the distiller after each batch ! I notice even our dogs prefer ‘our’ water to what is available in the park, and visitors are quick to comment on the quality as well.

  3. I love the fact that God and food was mentioned! Bring it on! Good for you not to apologize for your faith, Jimmy.

  4. I agree with Taiwan Gal. You have a right to mention God if He is part of oyur life. I see no reason why some find that so offensive.

  5. I really enjoyed this interview, Jimmy. Checked out Kelly’s blog when I got back from my walk for the tips y’all talked about.
