Hello and welcome back to The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore!

Today Jimmy speaks with Mark “Dr. Tea” Ukra. Mark has spent the last three decades spreading the word about the health and dietary benefits of the tea plant in all its forms. Listen in to hear about his weight loss plan for six to eight cups of tea a day sweetened with a low-carb or low-glycemic sweetener of your choice (like our new sponsor who debuts today–the stevia-based Truvia). He also outlines why supplementing with tea is so inexpensive, the four vital components of tea for weight loss, and much, MUCH more!

  1. It’s truly amazing how many benefits are derived from this one commodity. I am very interested in getting a copy of the “Tea Diet” book. Thanks for a very interesting and helpful podcast!

  2. I’ve ordered some very delicious teas from Dr. Tea. I can attest to the craving teas. They are really good and do the trick to make you feel like you are having a very special dessert. I’ve found Dr. Tea’s website especially enjoyable to peruse. Very informative. Dr. Tea himself seems to have such a calmness about him. Thanks for interviewing him. Gotta go and make me a delish cup of tea!

  3. You know, this guy strikes me as a class A California-style nut. I am sure his ideas about tea coincide with reality at least roughly, but it’s not because he has any clue about scientific evidence or cause and effect or rational deduction. Unfortunately, it’s way too common to run into such uninformed and deeply uncritical thinkers in the “progressive” West Coast health food scene. In my opinion, they do more to discredit unconventional approaches to health and to nutrition than to promote them. If I am wrong and he does have a more sophisticated understanding of the evidence for health benefits of tea, then he was being very condescending.

  4. I have tested some of these claims personally and I can say with confidence that some of these really work. It is not very difficult to follow these methods. This Dr is not asking you to stop drinking the tea, he is just saying change the way you drink it. I lost good fat with this method. It is good to try; you are not going loose anything except weight.

  5. Generally people use many different methods; there is no harm in trying this one too. You may loose some weight gradually and might end up having slimmer body. I can trust his advice because he spent good years researching it. You do not until you try it. Claims are counter claims should be backed by experience. I read about it and did it. Now I know it works.

  6. I will be ordering some tea from mark (Dr Tea) very soon after reading these
    amazing articles.
The benefits gained and especially the weight loss would be great.
    Superb

  7. Hello sir,
I wanted to ask you, Can we drink DR.Tea while we drink Green Tea? i mean i drink Green tea daily nearly 3 times. Do you think i can have Dr.Tea twice a day other than Green tea? Is it good? Does it give any reactions if we drink both teas alternatively? Thankyou In advance
