Even though all the meatheads in the gym have preached eating carbs to me for years, I am able to gain muscle and get leaner at the same time while in ketosis\u2014and I\u2019ve never felt better.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>For years, gym rats have loaded our bodies with supplements that we take pre-workout, during workout, and post-workout. When starting keto, I quit using all supplements because I was unsure how they would impact me. Now, I have coffee with coconut oil and butter along with an egg yolk as a pre-workout snack and feel amazing in the gym. Keep it up! I have been eating keto for about a year. During the first six months, I felt great, lost body fat, and built a lot of muscle. But I started getting a burning sensation that would begin in my legs and then spread throughout my body. I have been measuring when this feeling comes on and when my blood glucose is in the 80s to low 90s, the symptoms are much less severe. I consume spinach with lots of butter, ground beef, eggs, and salami to get those blood sugar readings.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>However, when my blood glucose is in the 100-120 range, the burning sensation is much worse. What makes my blood sugar reach this level is a cup of eggplant and zucchini. I\u2019m not sure what could be causing this and I live in an area where ketone testing equipment is not available.
