LISTEN AND DOWNLOAD AT ITUNES

We are back with a fabulous brand new episode of one of the hottest new nutritional health podcasts called Keto Talk with Jimmy Moore & The Doc (listen and leave a review for the show on iTunes HERE). Our cohosts are 10-year veteran health podcaster and international bestselling author Jimmy Moore from “Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb” and Arizona osteopath and certified bariatric physician Dr. Adam Nally from “Doc Muscles” sharing weekly wisdom and experience about the low-carb, moderate protein, high-fat, ketogenic diet. It’s been gratifying to hear all of the amazing feedback from YOU the listeners and we encourage you to keep it coming with iTunes reviews and through direct e-mail feedback and questions for the show sent directly to Jimmy. Listen in today as Jimmy and Adam offer up ketogenic excellence for you in a slightly longer show (see, we listen to your feedback!) in Episode 11!

KEY QUOTE: “It’s not a percentage or macronutrient that we’re looking for. It’s the hormonal response that matters.” — Dr. Adam Nally

Here’s what Jimmy and Adam talked about in Episode 11:
– The great iTunes reviews coming in for the show
– Adam’s patient who has been doing keto on his own
– The methodical approach of going from Paleo to Whole30 to low-carb/keto
– My Keto Paleo talk at Low Carb Vail next week
CSIRO study: Improved diabetes control with new diet
– Why this Australian study isn’t very “groundbreaking” at all
– How higher protein levels can actually increase your LDL cholesterol
– What are the perfect macronutrient ratios for obtaining the best ketone levels?
– Why macronutrients aren’t as important as the hormonal response of food
– When your carb tolerance is low, your protein threshold will be lower too
– How do you get back into ketosis after a long hiatus?
– The so-called “one golden shot” hypothesis about low-carb diets
– How fasting is a great way to kickstart ketosis again
– The hedonic effect of fructose on intense cravings
– How getting adequate saturated fat is so critical to craving control

KEY QUOTE: “Some people think dairy is a freebie on keto, but for some people it’s not.” — Jimmy Moore

Plus, don’t miss our listener question from this week’s featured Keto Talk Mailbox e-mail at the end of the show:

I am like you and Doc Nally—very, very insulin resistant. I have hit a plateau now for 10 months after losing 75 pounds. Now I cannot figure out how to restart my weight loss again. I intermittent fast everyday going as long as 48 hours and love it. I eat one meal a day.

But getting into and staying in ketosis is extremely hard to maintain for me. What can I do? I keep losing five pounds and gain them back and lose them again. The same five pounds up and down with no breakthrough. It is disheartening to be stuck. I started to think I was eating too much and last August I cut what I ate by half. But I am still stuck.

All I have been is very hungry with no weight loss at all. Can you help me figure this out? Thanks for your assistance. Gladys

  1. Oh my gosh such great stuff here. Love the debunk on the one shot only. I have to hand it to you, for all you do with so many people. I am trying hard to help others and man-o-man, so hard. People need to read the book first and many won’t they run to the Keto gurus and are all over the place.
Hedonic…interesting term used. Fat, Fat, and Fat checks that so much.
I yo-yoed for a couple of years too, now after 2 years the weight is coming off. It wasn’t easy, but it has been worth it.
Loved this podcast, no matter how long.
